Ann Melde-Rahe MS, LPCC, CCTP II
My Approach
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), through the state of Minnesota, am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is a specialized form of trauma therapy. Additionally, I am a certified clinical trauma professional (CCTP II).I also provide supervision as a board approved supervisor, and love to help in the growth of my colleagues.
I provide mental health counseling for individuals, families, and couples ages 10 and above. I am able to complete diagnostic assessments and create integrative treatment plans to help gain symptom control.
It is shown that 90% of individuals seeking mental health care suffer from some form of trauma, causing hardship in their life. Therefore, my specialty area is complex trauma therapy. I am also passionate and work closely with those whom experience anxiety, depression, relational and marriage challenges, personality disorders, dissociative disorders, OCD, ADD/ADHD, chemical dependency, parenting difficulties, self-esteem and self-harm.
I strive to provide a welcoming environment for those who want to work collaboratively in starting the process of change. To promote healing, I take a dynamic approach towards therapy incorporating multiple therapeutic perspectives from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Experiential Learning, to Narrative Therapy, Adlerian Theory, and Internal Family Systems. These dynamic modalities allow me to create a holistic approach as I guide individuals through their challenges to mitigate the impact of their symptoms on their emotional, spiritual, mental, and physical well-being.
My Story
After graduating in 2008 with my bachelors in Sociology with a concentration in Human Services, I decided to give back to my community and joined the AmeriCorp as a full-time volunteer. I was stationed in Jacksonville, Florida and worked in child protective services for a year. This was an enlightening experience, and had a huge impact on the passion I grew for helping those whom have suffered with mental illness and trauma.
I entered into my Master’s Program at UW-Whitewater in 2010 and started my journey towards becoming a Community Based Therapist. My studies in Community Counseling had an emphasis in Trauma and Chemical Dependency, and led to graduation in 2013. From there I moved to Minnesota to start my first job at Nystrom & Associates, LTD, in the Professional Family-Based Division (PFBD) of in-home therapy. I was able to work closely with clients in their homes to build skills and navigate life’s challenges.
This experience eventually led me to the opportunity to provide therapy in the outpatient setting with Nystrom & Associates, LTD and I completed my Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) licensure in 2018. In this time, I had two of my own children and have put down roots in Minnesota, even though I will always remain a Packer’s fan.
In 2020 I joined the small collaborative Clearwater Counseling as a private contractor and have had the opportunity to continue to work with individuals from all walks of life. These chances have shaped the clinician I am today, and for that I am thankful. I look forward to the next chapter in working with Trinity Therapeutic Services, as well as continuing to build on my skills as a clinician.

My Beliefs
I believe with some insight, intention, and practice… anything is possible.
I believe that change is scary, but also necessary to thrive.
I believe a safe therapeutic relationship is essential for any sort of growth, and therefore request open and honest communication.
I believe that most individuals suffer from trauma and negative core beliefs that unconsciously guide their lives. With the right care and hard work, this can be altered.
I believe it takes a community to support the ability to be a strong and healthy individual, and would love the opportunity to be welcomed into your community.
